Through the delivery of face to face training we aim to increase the skills, knowledge and understanding that underpin and encourage healthier lifestyle choices across the county and beyond.

Whether you want to develop your own understanding or that of your community or organisation, our training team has identified key areas of health promotion and developed relevant training that meets the needs of those who live and work here.

Walk Leader Walking for Health

Walk Leader

Aim: To ensure volunteer walk leaders are feel well equipped to lead walking groups throughout Cornwall

  • Route planning
  • How to lead walkers with special requirements

Brief description: Cornwall Healthy Weight works closely with Walking for Health to support our walking groups throughout Cornwall. Volunteer walk leaders make Walking for Health possible.  The time, passion and dedication that they commit to leading our walks are invaluable. Our full day training course will help volunteers to feel confident leading a health walk around Cornwall. CLICK HERE for more information on Walking for Health.

The training includes a short practical demo walk so please wear appropriate clothing.

Target group: Anyone above the age of 18 who has a keen interest in walking and wants to volunteer as a walk leader.
