Sport and Recreation Alliance - Youth Advisory Panel

Date: 13th December 2018

Sport and Recreation Alliance - Youth Advisory Panel

Who are they?

The Sport and Recreation Alliance is the representative body for the sport and recreation sector. As the voice of the sector, they work with government, policy makers and the media to make sure that grassroots sport and recreation grows and thrives.

In 2017 working with children and young people was prioritized as one of four key objectives within their organisational strategy, and over the past 18 months they have been working to focus this as an area of activity at the heart of the organisation.

The Youth Advisory Panel

The panel will be a group of 10-12 young people who are passionate about youth representation, have a range of experiences in sport and physical activity and want to make sure that their generation decides how opportunities are developed and delivered for moving them forward.

The panel will advise and guide the Alliance's work around children and young people, with a particular focus on the organisation's #RightToBeActive campaign to begin with, though as the Panel becomes more established, the Alliance will work with the group to consider where they can advise the Alliance on other areas of work.
