SUGAR SMART Certificate for King Charles!
Monday 21st January 2019
King Charles C of E School in Falmouth have become the first school in Falmouth to gain a SUGAR SMART certificate.
In order to gain the certificate, King Charles School demonstrated the ways they have worked in their school community to address the five key areas to becoming SUGAR SMART:
- Attending SUGAR SMART training
- Promoting healthy lunches and snacks
- Encouraging water consumption
- Reconsidering tuck shop and/or vending machine options
- Adopting a whole school approach
The school have worked with their caterer to implement a low sugar menu, and, following consultation with pupils, replaced their tuck menu with a new low sugar menu. The feedback from parents and pupils has been positive.
Congratulations King Charles Primary – it’s great to see you making impactful and sustainable change for your school community!
