Active Kids Do Better

Teachers encourage your pupils to get active today!

Discovery Education have collaborated with Nike to encourage pupils to get active in the classroom, playground and at home, as part of a new education programme for teachers to use in schools.

The programme which is freely available contains resources to help get our pupils get more active with a goal of ensuring that we meet, if not exceed the Government guidelines for children to have at least 30 minutes of activity per day.

Super Movers - BBC Sport

Join the Super Movement!

Super Movers is an exciting partnership between the Premier League and BBC which aims to inspire primary school children to get active.

Stars from across the worlds of football and television are brought together in fun curriculum-linked Brain Booster song and movement routines for use by teachers in the classroom. Routines focus on Literacy and Numeracy and range from fractions to punctuation to times tables. Active children do better and get more from their school day.

Super Movers can also be used at home with our range of Just for Fun videos and games designed to get children and grown-ups moving together in their living rooms.

Super Mover schools can benefit from great football-inspired incentives like a visit from the Premier League trophy, or Scottish Professional Football League Premiership Trophy if you are in Scotland. Find out how to enter your school for the monthly prize draw.

Get Set

Live the Olympic & Paralympic Values!

Get Set is the British Olympic Association and British Paralympic Association’s youth engagement programme. It was originally created as the official London 2012 education programme, to deliver against Lord Coe’s vision to use the Games to inspire a generation of young people.

The programme aims to:

  • inspire young people to fulfil their potential and maintain healthy, active lifestyles
  • give all young people the chance to learn about and live the Olympic Values of friendship, excellence and respect and the Paralympic Values of inspiration, determination, courage and equality
  • build excitement about Team GB and ParalympicsGB, using the Olympic and Paralympic Games as a hook for learning and participation.

The Heart of the Programme:
The Get Set website sits at the heart of Get Set. It provides young people, teachers and other adults who work with young people with access to a wide range of opportunities and resources which can be used in the classroom, on the playground and in the community. The website also provides schools and youth groups with the chance to share best practice and learn from each other and acts as a hub, promoting other Olympic and Paralympic opportunities which are delivered by their partners.

More than PE and Sport…
Get Set is a flexible, cross-curricular programme, which uses the Values to help young people fulfil their potential in all walks of life. Lots of schools and youth groups use the programme to support their PE and sport offer but it’s just as relevant to the arts, PSHE, geography, leadership and volunteering and so on…
