PSHE Programme for Schools in Cornwall
Hopefully you are aware by now that Cornwall’s schools will soon be fortunate enough to access a PSHE Programme which will support the integration and development of a PSHE curriculum. Aligned to the forthcoming statutory guidance, comprehensive across Primary, Secondary and Further Education, adaptable to fit in with differing school needs and free to all Cornwall’s schools, this programme has been in development for some months now.
Due to the Covid 19 pandemic the programme is now set entirely on a digital platform which includes:
- Staff training, both to implement within the school and to engage the wider school community
- Regular Question and Answer sessions for staff to engage in before, during or after the training
- A toolkit of editable resources which includes curriculum and lesson plans across each key stage
- An online portal to enable engagement with parents.
The programme has been developed to align with the current Public Health ambitions for Cornwall. It is designed to support the prevention and self help agenda and is consistent with the Trauma Informed and I-Thrive models.
We are delighted to inform you that the PSHE Programme is now live and can be accessed here.
PSHE Programme Webinar
Following the launch of the PSHE Programme we are preparing a webinar to support the integration of the resources the programme provides for schools. The webinar will allow us the opportunity to introduce you to the PSHE Programme toolkit, explore the resources it has to offer and provide an opportunity for questions
This will be held on Tuesday 7th July 10-11am and will be followed in the afternoon by some Health and Wellbeing workshops offered by a host of partner services. Themed around a Whole School Approach to Health and Wellbeing the workshops will run from 1:30-2:30pm and will include:
- Staff Well Being
- Emotional Resilience and Well Being
- Impact of a Whole School Approach to Health and Well Being
