With World Suicide Prevention day on 10th September we’re asking for your support for the local men’s mental health campaign “Don’t Flush Your Life Away”.
Men are 3 times more likely to take their lives than women, mainly because they don’t feel comfortable talking about their feelings. We want to encourage men to talk to someone, it could be a colleague or a friend or a family member. Whoever it is…it’s OK to talk.
Here in Cornwall we also have one of the highest rates of suicide in the country, and middle aged men are the highest group.
The posters were originally designed for pub toilets because the pub might be a place a man would visit if he was feeling fed up. And well…the inevitable use of the toilets means you’ve got the perfect location for a captive audience!
The posters are now being displayed across a number of other companies and organisations toilets, and we’d like you to get involved too! You can download and print them or request printed copies to be sent to you by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
