Rhiannon Morris Award 2015
The Rhiannon Morris Award was presented at the 2015 Big Beach Day. This award annually recognises outstanding work in promoting healthy lifestyles for people with learning disabilities. It is in memory of Rhiannon Morris, a member of the CHAMPs Team, who sadly passed away in 2012.
This year’s winner was Sandra Jones. Sandra is a support worker in Newquay and the Blantyre day centre, and supported a woman with learning disabilities to go swimming. This helped the woman to become healthier and to gain more confidence.
Congratulations were also given to the other nominees: the Blantyre day centre, Acute Liaison Learning Disabilities and Autism Team at Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust, Irene Atkinson from Choice, and Gary Small from Cornwall College.
