Young Peoples Sexual Health Promotion
Health Promotion -
We work directly with young people in secondary schools and colleges delivering health promotion and education around general sexual health, covering topics such as contraception, sexually transmitted infections and sexuality. We also support and deliver national sexual health campaigns as well as local awareness months and events in colleges and the wider community.
We educate young people about the local sexual health services available to them, and work in close partnership with other sexual health services in Cornwall & Devon such as Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust, Cornwall Council and Brook Advisory Service.
We offer sexual health training to any professional working with young people covering a broad range of topics including, but not limited to, Foundation in Sexual Health, Go Girls, Fantasy vs Reality, Working with People with Learning Disabilities around Sexual Health and more.
C CARD Scheme -
I lead, coordinate and maintain the C CARD Scheme - a free condom distribution scheme for young people aged 13-24 living in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly. I support existing points and identify potential new sites which may be suitable for the scheme; this includes training and ongoing support for services. I also undertake C CARD promotion at Freshers Events in the Colleges, School Sixth Forms and University and at health events across Cornwall for young people.
