Speakeasy Cornwall gets parents and carers together to talk about the best ways to chat with their children, whatever their age, about growing up, body changes, sex and relationships. We enable parents and carers to feel more confident and relaxed about subjects that can be tricky and awkward to discuss. It's amazing how much there is to learn and reassuring to know that most of us feel nervous and unprepared for the questions children ask us! Speakeasy aims to help you to feel more confident speaking with your children about sex, relationships and growing up, using words they understand and you are comfortable using.
Speakeasy Cornwall trains people to deliver the Speakeasy Parent and Carer Course in their own settings through our Facilitator Training programme and developing and delivering the bespoke courses we provide for our partners across Cornwall’s Children’s Workforce. We now provide an extra day of Facilitator training for those working with families with a child with a Learning Disability in partnership with Doubletrees School.
We have a targeted approach working with; Foster Carers, Children in Care Service, the Parenting Service, Family Learning Service, Parent Carer Council (for parents and carers of children with a Learning Disability), WILD young parent’s project etc.
