I’m Ally Green, the Workforce & Training Team Lead. After 18 years working in both Adults & Children’s Social Care, I moved in 2018 to Healthy Cornwall, it’s been great working alongside colleagues motivated to improve the physical and mental health of residents, particularly those most at risk of health inequality.  I lead on the workforce and training offer for Healthy Cornwall and provide line management support to the training team and outreach health check practitioners.  To keep my resilience levels in good shape, I love how regular yoga makes me feel, and maybe this is the moment to reveal my guilty wellbeing pleasure – sitting in the garden listening to BBC Radio 4’s The Archers!

My name is Kate Jilbert, and I’m a Health Improvement Practitioner within the Workforce and Training team. In my role, I work closely with organisations to understand their workforce health needs and priorities, then collaborate to design and implement practical solutions that promote physical, mental, and social wellbeing. We can offer a wide range of targeted programmes, including NHS Health Checks, health assessments, and training and skills development. I’m passionate about helping organisations create a positive culture where people can thrive—because healthy teams lead to better morale, reduced absence, and stronger performance. If you think I can support your business, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I’ve been part of Healthy Cornwall since 2021, and I feel honoured to work in such an amazing team.

My name is Susan Mercer and I am an Outreach Health Check Practitioner with Healthy Cornwall. I deliver NHS Health Checks and Health Assessments in workplaces from the east of Truro up to the border. My role enables me to meet people from a wide range of workplaces and I enjoy helping them to make a start on improving their health & wellbeing. Away from work, I am a keen year-round sea swimmer which helps to boost both my physical and mental health. There is nothing better than a sea swim in the depths of winter followed by coffee and cake!

My name is Graham Hicks and have been with Healthy Cornwall for over 10 years working as a health trainer/life coach for 5 years supporting health and wellbeing covering mental health, weight management and social inclusion. My role over the past 5 years has been largely delivering NHS Free Health checks, Health Assessments and Virtual Lifestyle Assessments (VLAs) which was particularly effective during the pandemic. I am a people person and enjoy my work immensely, knowing the job I do can change lives and make a difference so people can be healthier and happier. The icing on the cake is being part of our amazing team…I wouldn’t do anything else!

My name is Melanie Williams and I am an Outreach Health Check Practitioner with Healthy Cornwall. I deliver NHS Health Checks and Health Assessments in workplaces in north Cornwall. In addition, I also deliver appointment-based lifestyle advice and support over the phone to people who have received their NHS Health Check Via their GP as well as attending many wellbeing events to promote Healthy Cornwall to the people that I come into contact with. I love connecting and supporting the people I meet and find out what is important to them when it comes to being healthy and active. I like to stay as active as possible which isn’t difficult with a young family but in my spare time I also enjoy art and crafts, archery, listening to music, podcasts and reading.
