Each year the Director of Public Health in Cornwall creates an annual report showcasing information, celebrating successes, highlighting issues and performing an analysis on a specific aspect of health within our local population.
The latest Director of Public Health Annual Report shines a spotlight on child poverty in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, where more than 27,000 children - around one in five - are living in relative poverty.
This powerful report shares the voices of babies, children, young people and families, revealing how poverty impacts health, wellbeing, education and future aspirations. It calls for urgent action, including a proposed multi-agency Child Poverty Taskforce, and highlights positive work already happening locally.
