Healthy Workplace Annual Conference and Award Ceremony 2020

We were delighted to be able to welcome back Professor Dame Carol Black - Expert Adviser on Health and Work - who in addition to presenting the awards, gave us the national overview and update on Workplace Health and Professor Anthony D Woolf who presented on recent national evidence on Musculoskeletal Health in the Workplace.
Various workshops were held on;
- Dementia in the Workplace by Jo Malyon, Alzheimer’s Society
- Financial Health by Rebekah Gerry, Neyber and Margaret Schwarz, Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust
- Menopause Awareness by Sara Bibb, Healthy Cornwall
- Physical activity for the management & prevention of disease by Dr Kerry Bailey, Public Health Cornwall
Five Minutes of Fame presentations were delivered by the following workplaces, sharing their best practice:
Following our workshops, the Healthy Workplace Award Ceremony rewarded and recognised local workplaces in their achievement of the Healthy Workplace Award via: Certificate, Micro, Bronze, Silver, Gold & Mentor awards and also inspire new workplaces, which are just getting started. We were delighted to be able to welcome back for the 11th year, Professor Dame Carol Black - Expert Advisor on Health and Work - who in addition to presenting the awards, gave us the national overview and update on Workplace Health.
We ran 4 workshops on;
- Resilience & Sleep - Kevin Simpson, Clinical Psychologist and CEO Outlook South West
- Presenteeism or just present? – Allye Brown, Healthy Cornwall
- Changing the culture on Domestic Abuse- the Employers Initiative - Elizabeth Filkin
- Suicide Postvention Plan - Penn Petchey, Suicide Liaison Service
We heard from 3 workplaces, who shared their best practice;
